A Feast Fit for a King

Last night, four of us from the hostel went out to Las Canitas section of Palermo and had quite a meal. We went to a parilla to enjoy a meal that made Argentina famous. We arrived at the parilla - Jackie O´s - a terrible name, I know. While we waited for a table the hostess gave us glasses of champagne. We were seated at a table next to the fire pit which had various types of meat such as baby goat and an enormous rack of ribs roasting.

We ordered a giant mixed platter of meats, some papas fritas, salads, and of course a bottle of malbec. When the food came out, it was quite the impressive spread.
From Buenos Aires

The food ranged from the expected various cuts of beef, chorizo, to the slightly more exotic and adventursome with blood sausage - not bad, tripe - edible, not my favorite, to the tongue - to put it lightly, not my cup of tea. After two hours of eating and drinking and we were stuffed. It´s amazing how great meat cooked on a grill with minimal seasoning can taste. In the end we enjoyed a mound of meat, two good bottles of wine, a bottle of champagne and various sides for about $90us.

Incredible.
